The open baffle principle is well known for its particular distinctive qualities, such as absence of coloration and good impulse response.
This is offset by the fact that according to theoretical calculation, this baffle would have to be unreasonably sized to reproduce bass frequencies in good conditions.
Nevertheless, a number of purely acoustic considerations combined with our long experience of open baffles showed us that we could push the limits of such a system very far and take complete advantage of its qualities.
