Open baffle (flat panel) loudspeakers

The open baffle principle is well known for its particular distinctive qualities, such as absence of coloration and good impulse response.

This is offset by the fact that according to theoretical calculation, this baffle would have to be unreasonably sized to reproduce bass frequencies in good conditions.

Nevertheless, a number of purely acoustic considerations combined with our long experience of open baffles showed us that we could push the limits of such a system very far and take complete advantage of its qualities.

Tosca's solutions, to be discovered in the Recital range, illustrate this problem of "squaring the circle" :

• The choice and the positioning of the bass loudspeaker, which features individual amplification, along with detailed research into wave flow results in perfectly linear bass reproduction and sub bass frequencies down to 18Hz (-3dB).
• The solid front panel consists of a carefully designed shape and the choice of a wide range, ultra-linear non-filtered loudspeaker, associated with an extremely high performing super tweeter, delivers a highly efficient and perfectly linear result.
